The other day I started my first subscriber chat for my paid subscribers here on Substack. I was thinking of doing an open chat for all my subscribers but there are a ton of you—which is awesome! Thanks for subscribing!— but if I opened the chat up to everyone then I wouldn’t be able to answer all or even most of your questions and interact like I want to. There are far fewer paid subscribers, so I figured that’d be the way to go, plus I get to find out why the paid subs ended up supporting my work.
So, if you want to chat and you’re a paid subscriber, grab the app (details below) and jump in. If you’re not a paid subscriber and you want to chat, upgrade and jump in. There are other ways to contact me but I get overwhelmed or I forget to check the various inboxes and comment sections across all the different platforms (sorry if I’ve missed you! And I’m saving all the letters you’ve sent in hopes of writing back some time in the Spring).
The Substack chat is actually the easiest for me to use and remember to check, there are way less folks messaging me there, and the messages are much higher priority for me because they’re from the folks who are most invested in my work.
So far it’s been great getting to know the people who help keep the lights on. So, today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: Parker's Ponderings Paid subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space exclusively for paid subscribers—kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. It’s really beneficial for me to know who’s out there reading and which of my many interests you’re interested in most so I can be sure to keep those topics in the rotation of my posts.
How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
