Cities will never have rest from their evils until philosophers are kings or kings become philosophers… or at least that’s the contention of one 4th century philosopher named Aristocles. Now, you may know Aristocles by his nickname: ‘Plato’—which apparently means “broad” and could have been a nickname given to him by his wrestling coach in light of his powerful physique. But “broad” could’ve also referred to his broad philosophical style or his broad forehead or even some random ancient Greek idiosyncrasy that wouldn’t make sense to us today—but as a former wrestler myself,
