We're Giving Away 10 Copies of C.S. Lewis's Miracles!
The C.S. Lewis Official Substack is Helping Me Rain Books on You for my Read-Along
A couple of posts ago, I put out my feelers to see if my audience would be interested in doing a read-along/book club with me on one of my all-time favorite books, Miracles by C.S. Lewis. The feedback was incredible—it was a resounding “yes!”. So, I decided we’re going to do it!
I’ve already gotten to work outlining some of the read-along companion essays I’m going to write for my readers, as well as some bonus essays like an introduction to CSL and a special piece on his Argument(s) from Reason.
After my initial interest gauging post, I put out an overview of the book for those who aren’t sold on jumping in yet, which you can read here:
We're Doing a Read-Along on C.S. Lewis's Miracles!
The read-along/book club on C.S. Lewis’s Miracles is a go! In my last post I put out my feelers to see if my audience would be interested in doing a read-along after seeing how many folks continue to be blessed by Jared Henderson’s read-alongs on his Substack. It turns out, people really, really love C.S. Lewis and would love to do a read-along on his stuff—who woulda…
After those two posts, a lot of folks reached out to tell me how excited they are about the read-along, including
himself—which was a shock! But alas, it wasn’t a message from Jack from beyond the grave, but instead it was a message from the lovely person who manages the C.S. Lewis side of things for HarperCollins—the publisher that publishes CSL’s books. They reached out solely to offer a give away for my audience to support and bring attention to my read-along! That’s so cool!So here’s the deal, we’re going to give away 10 copies of CSL’s Miracles to my audience just in time for you to have chapters 1&2 read before my first companion essay drops on March 31st.
But I need some way to choose the winners at random. So, here’s how we’re going to do it, if you want to win a free copy of Miracles, for yourself or to give to a friend if you already have a copy (and then invite them into our read-along!), leave me a comment on this post and on the note I’m sharing to announce this give away. I’m going to use a random number generator to pick 5 people from the comments on this post and 5 people from the comments of my note announcing this give away as well. I’ll message those 10 people for their addresses and pass those along to HarperCollins and they’ll get the books out to you in time to join the read-along.
There are only 2 caveats: you have to be 18 years or older to win and you need to be a US resident. But that’s it!
We’re running the give away starting today, Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 through Saturday, March 15th at 11:59 pm pacific. So, I’m picking the winners on Sunday the 16th and will reach out to the winners through direct messages or email.
I’ll repost the read-along and book club schedule below.
The read-along essays are free for everyone to read and comment on, but the Zoom calls are only for paid subscribers (from Substack, Patreon, YouTube Members, Spotify paid subscribers—if you support me financially through any platform, you’re welcome to the Zoom call book club sessions (they’ll be recorded for you in case you can’t make a session)).
So drop me a comment below and on my note to enter to win a free copy of Miracles. If you don’t know what to say, just write “I’m in” and you’re in.
Read-Along Schedule
