What is Theology? | Class 1 of My Systematic Theology Course
Theological Prolegomena You Can Actually Understand
I’m teaching a Systematic Theology course at my church. I love ST! So much so that I earned a Master’s degree in it, studying under folks like Kevin Vanhoozer, John Feinberg, D.A. Carson, John Woodbridge, James Arcadi, Tom McCall, Harold Netland, David Luy, and others. I wrote a 120 page Master’s thesis for Dr. Vanhoozer and Dr. Feinberg on the author analogy for the God-world relation—a defense of Dr. Vanhoozer’s model against the various problems of evil. I really love this stuff and I could nerd out about it for at least 8 hours—and I’m literally going to!
This Spring, I’m teaching a course on systematic theology using our Evangelical Free Church of America statement of faith as a jumping-off point and then diving in deep into all things systematic theology. It’s going to be awesome. The class is broken up into 8 sessions. Each session will include a 50 minute lecture and 20 minutes of Q&A with the in-person congregants. I’ll record each 70 minute session and upload them here on Substack for paid subscribers, and on my Patreon page, and my Parker’s Pensées YouTube page for the paid members there as well.
If you’re interested in theology at all, or think you may be, then consider becoming a paid subscriber here or on Patreon and dive into my 8 hour+ course on systematic theology.
