I'm going to start inserting, "Word" into all of my Lewis quotes from here on out.

I don't tend to subscribe for paid substacks (even though I like following along with your thoughts!). I am interested in the read along though! I could at least provide commentary here and drive up that engagement even in I'm unpaid. If it is an ongoing book discussion group that I consistently wind up contributing to then I would definitely consider a paid sub.

I would be interested. It is one of CS Lewis's books I have not read yet.

Was reviewing your YT channels and not sure where book club should land but I’m pretty sure its not Parker’s Swamp!

I just subscribed to be part of this. Through which channel would you communicate the schedule and zoom dial ins?

Parker Settecase's avatar

Awesome! I will share the zoom link to everyone who is a paid subscriber, so that's here on Substack, I'll probably make a paid post with the link in it and post the link in the paid subscriber chat too. Then I'd post it on Patreon and YouTube members.

Just finished reading the abolition of man. Wouldn’t mind reading some more CS Lewis. 👍👍

I'd be in; sounds like something fun to try! I have never read anything by C.S. Lewis; so this would be an exciting way to remedy this egregious and consequential oversight of my life! 😁

I would love this. This is my year of reading and studying C. S. Lewis.

I’m not religious but would be interested in trying out a read along! Upgraded. I wonder if read alongs are something that would sell well as a prerecorded class(I mean after the live one is complete). Maybe that’s a silly idea.

Definitely something to think about! I think I'll record videos on each companion essay and put them up on one of my YouTube channels. So then I'll have the essays, video versions, and the recorded book club sessions. So glad you'd be interested!!

Potentially yes, depending on when, and potentially yes to subscribing.

I would definitely be interested, and would seriously consider becoming a paid subscriber, at least for the duration of the book club.

It's hard for me to justify paying to read articles when there are millions of good articles available freely. But a book club on a great book with someone I like leading it would definitely be attractive.

@Parker Settecase when are you planning on starting the Lewis study on Miracles?

Expand full comment
Parker Settecase's avatar

Well I was just feeling it out but the overwhelming interest has forced my hand haha I just started a new notebook solely for notes on Miracles so it's actually happening. I'm thinking late March early April
